For more information, you are invited to attend our Board meetings which are open to the public and held the second Thursday of the month at 5:30 PM via Zoom. The meetings run just 1 hour or less. We have 2 phone numbers for information and referrals: 757-266-9994 for Virginia Beach and 757-266-9590 for Chesapeake. Homeowners seeking assistance should use these phone numbers to contact our intake coordinator. This is the only way to be considered for our services.
At Nov 06, 2019 Virginia Beach City Council meeting, Mayor Dyer read a proclamation commending Faith Works Coalition for more than 10 years of service to the citizens on Virginia Beach, recognizing that we had completed more than 1000 projects in that time. The two attached pictures show Mayor Dyer reading the proclamation and presenting it to President Glen. Pat will be bringing the proclamation to this month’s Board meeting.
Many thanks to Pat Roll for leading the effort to get FWC recognized by the city.

Hello Dave and Dave,
I writing to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding work that was done by replacing the frame work and painting the front exterior of my home. I appreciate your time, dedication, and professionalism, while keeping me informed thru out the repairs.
I sincerely appreciate your help and thank you doesn’t even begin to cover how grateful I am for your assistance.
Thank you
Sonya Christian

My name is Betty Ross. On October 8th, 2016, Hurricane Matthew came through Hampton Roads and did tremendous damage. Four homes were condemned in Chesapeake and mine was one of them due to flooding. I did not know what to do. I was taken out of my home by rowboat by Chesapeake firemen. I applied for FEMA funds and while I was waiting to hear from them, Operation Blessing came and took out damaged furniture and carpets, tore down walls and tore up floors and anything else water-logged. I lost just about everything. Then Alex Frye with Faith Works Coalition came to me and told me they wanted to rebuild my home. I could not believe what I was hearing. These wonderful people wanted to help me. And help me they did. I received FEMA funds and since the labor was volunteered, my home was rebuilt. It took six months, with most of them being able to work on Saturdays only, but it was worth the wait. There were so many people willing to work on my home and make sure that I had a place to live. The generosity of these men and women is boundless. There have been so many folks helped by them. I believe they have worked on 762 projects for the community. And no end in sight. Gives us hope for the world to have people like them living on it. Thank you Alex, John, George and Gary and everyone else who helped. I will never forget your generosity.

My old mobile home
Living in an older mobile home – it had problems. The bathroom floor had rotted & the toilet was falling thru. I had to grab into the wall for fear of falling thru the floor. My roof and front door leaked – I dreaded rain storms. FWC volunteers repaired my bathroom floor & installed a new toilet. My roof was coated with sealant. My floor at the door way was rebuilt. I open the front door and not sway from the rotted floor. The crew did this work on a hot, miserable day. I heard not one complaint. FWC will always be in my heart.
My new roof
FWC Project Manager – It is pouring down rain today and I have to keep reminding myself that I don’t have to worry. Anxiety is still my immediate response to rain, after so many months of watching my living room ceiling sag, then more recently, having sections of it fall into the house. So, I must thank
you and your organization once more for what you have done for us.
If not for you, I would still be waiting helplessly for my entire roof to cave in and not knowing what in the world we could do about it. My daughter’s research led her to the city’s program, then they referred me to Faith Works when I called. Thank you for the time you put into our project,
which was quite a bit. And thank you and your group for the work you do. I never knew that such things existed, either with the local government or private organizations, when it is solely for the benefit of the recipient. It still amazes me, and I will feel gratitude every time it rains.
Grateful for faithworks coalition
Words cannot express how thankful and humble that I am to the Faith Works Coalition. After experiencing a horrendous fire in my house I lost many of my personal items, money and furniture. Even though, my insurance company paid for the majority cost of the repairs in the home the contractor that I hired took a large portion of the money and never did all of the repairs. I hired a lawyer and paid her a large amount of money to handle my case; she wasn’t successful in retrieving the money. However, the house is in livable condition with the help of FAITH WORKS COALITION.
In retrospect, after the fire I wasn’t able to get my life back on track I was feeling so depressed. One morning early I was walking near the lake in the back of my house to pray. As I open my eyes wide I saw this man who seemed to come from nowhere. He started up a polite conversation, I rarely talk to strangers with personal stories I normally just chit-chat; somehow one word led to another I spoke to him briefly about my dilemma and.. Bingo! He told me about FAITHWORKS COALITION as he walked away. I shouted back what’s the name of that place again; I was so excited I thought I had forgotten the name he again said “Faith works” with his hands reaching and waving to the heaven’s as he disappeared.
The blessings that I have received from, Faith Works Coalition has truly given me back the strength to get out of this depression, start enjoying my family and friends again. The FWC has reinforced and given me the gifts to know there are still people who care, love and support others unconditionally. I told you this story to share my gratefulness for Faith Works Coalition. I appreciate your help and support again, again and again. “God Bless You All”

Roof Repair
I want to thank all who came and fixed my roof . I love all of you so much. I’m very happy my roof does not leak. You and God made this happen!! I’m still in a very difficult struggle. But to not have my roof falling in and leaking in 3 different spots in the home. Priceless because of all. Thank you. Chris
THANK YOU!
I had no idea this was here, or I would have written this long ago!
FWC has been instrumental in helping me my family (3 grand kids, ex-daughter-in-law, my girlfriend, 44 and myself, 69) get through some times that, frankly, I had lost all hope for. My GF and I are disabled and grandkids/daughter-in-law) have been a huge help. We had some things happened that made me feel as if I should just buy a tent and move out to the encampments. FWC saved the day twice, and have been wonderful. Their work was exemplary, and the two times we had issues, it was a manufacturer issue. Don’t know what we would have done without them!
Great work great help
a few years ago I had Faith Works help me with making my shower handicap accessible. It has been a great help since then I’ve declined in balance and fall on a regular basis. But not in the shower!
I never would’ve had the money to make my shower/bathtub handicap accessible.
Wonderful people, wonderful work they do. Thank you, Lord and thank you, Faith Works.
January 9, 2024, A 47 year old disabled and currently unemployed single mother requested assistance with leaks under her kitchen sink. The piping was non-standard and “jury-rigged” with several leaks that had been patched but were not holding. Volunteers removed the existing piping and rebuilt the plumbing. Cost: $24
